This project began in July of 2005. I am a gem dealer and I receive a lot of inquires for stones that I do not always stock. One inquiry for Parabia Tourmaline got me thinking, 'what if I had a database where I could search stones from dealers all over the world.' I then searched on google.com where I found no such site exists.

With this idea refusing to let go, I queried fellow gems dealers from Bangkok and the USA and they too were excited about such a project. I went ahead and set my programmers working part time and, in three months, we had a working web site. On October 10, 2005, we officially launched our site.

During the early days our site was restricted ONLY to the trade, then in late January of 2006 we separated site into two with access for buyer and sellers separately. Growth was almost immediate , hit rates began to grow by mid year we had close to 100 suppliers. On 25th May 2006 the shopping cart was inaugurated with pay pal the sole merchant account provider. On 10th of July 2006 our system recorded the first sale and the rest is history.

Successes was inevitable, with our large database of gemstones, wide and diverse range of sellers, unique buyer protection and no competing site specializing in gems. gemstone buyers from all over the world made us there primary gemstone search engine.
